Technology Integration

Integration

Integration is unification to become a roundness or become whole. Other than that Wedawaty (2001: 16) said that integration is a combination,  unification, or amalgamation of two or more objects. So, integration is the act or process of uniting different things

Technology

In the dictionary of science, technology is defined as the application of theoretical knowledge to practical problems. In essence, technology is the application of science or other knowledge organized into practical tasks

So, technology integration in the context of education is the use of technology tools in general content areas in education to allow students to apply computer and technology skills to learning and problem-solving.

TPACK (Technology, Pedagogical, Content Knowledge)

Technology knowledge is knowledge about technological standards ranging from books, chalks, and blackboards, or more sophisticated technologies such as the internet and digital videos

Pedagogical knowledge is knowledge about the process and practice or teaching-learning method.

Content knowledge is knowledge of the subjects to be studied.

The integration of pedagogical knowledge (P), content knowledge (K), and technological knowledge (T) create Pedagogical Content Technology (KPT) knowledge.

 This knowledge:

1. Is the basis of learning using technology.

2. Provides an understanding for displaying concepts using technology.

3. Provides an understanding of how technology involves constructive pedagogical ways to teach content.

The Internet is a combination of connected computer networks (LANs) around the world. On the other hand, the internet is also a global source of information that utilizes a collection of computer networks as a medium. The use of the internet for learning purposes which is increasingly widespread, especially in developed countries, is a fact that shows that with this medium it is possible to hold a more effective learning process.

the internet can actually be used in school learning because it has unique characteristics,:
As an interpersonal medium as well as a mass media that enables one-to-one and one-to-many communication;
Has an interactive nature;
Allows for synchronous (real-time) or delayed asynchronous communication to enable the implementation of communication which is a prerequisite for the occurrence of a learning process;
